Step 1 — Informal discussion
30 days (7 if discharge/suspension)Discussion with your immediate supervisor or Director of Nursing. Employer answers within 7 days of the discussion. (¶4102–4103)
Step 2 — HR meeting
Appeal within 7 days of the answerYou + union rep meet the HR Consultant within 14 days of the written request. Written employer response within 7 days after. (¶4104)
Step 3 — Labor Relations
Appeal within 7 days of Step 2 responseHeard at monthly meetings between the union and the Labor Relations Manager. (¶4105)
Step 4 — Arbitration
Demand within 10 days after Step 3 time expiresUnion may take the case to a neutral arbitrator; the decision is final and binding. Costs split between union and employer. (¶4107–4118)
